Run from the Kent Science Park in Sittingbourne, this 10K is organised by Sittingbourne Striders, a well-established local running and triathlon club marking their 40th year in 2026. The race takes place on a Sunday in early October, starting at 10am from a genuinely well-equipped event hub — runners get proper toilets, refreshments, and a small event village to use before and after racing, a step up from many local 10Ks.
The course heads out through the surrounding Kent countryside on quiet country lanes, mixing flatter stretches with a handful of rolling climbs — nothing dramatic, but enough to keep things honest rather than a pure PB-chasing course. Expect open farmland views and a genuinely rural feel for most of the route, a contrast to the industrial estate it starts and finishes near.
Sittingbourne Striders have built a reputation locally for a warm, encouraging atmosphere — this isn't an event where you'll feel like a number, and the marshalling along the route is consistently well regarded. Every finisher receives a medal, and there's a real community feel to the whole day, helped by local sponsors and businesses getting properly involved rather than just having their name on a banner.
Free parking is available on site, and post-race, runners can treat themselves to a complimentary massage courtesy of a local sponsor — a nice touch not every local 10K bothers with. Suited to a wide range of abilities: challenging enough to feel like a proper test, approachable enough for someone building toward their first 10K.
