1066 Trail Races bring genuine local trail-running expertise to East Sussex, organising well-loved events including the Ticehurst 7.5K — a scenic loop through the village with fine views over Bewl Water — and the Firle 5K Handicap, a South Downs out-and-back that's become a real fixture on the local calendar. 1066 Trail Races is known for small, well-organised, genuinely friendly events that put runners first — the kind of local trail racing that doesn't need to be big to be brilliant. We're proud to have 1066 Trail Races as an Open Podium partner, offering free entry to any of their races as the prize for our Rye Ancient Trails Target Time Award.
