Race Description

Sandhurst sits right on the Kent/Sussex border, and its trail race — run so far as a single inaugural edition rather than an established annual date — starts gently enough, heading out from the village hall on ground that gives early views across towards Bodiam and its castle.

That gentleness doesn't last: the course turns onto Bourne Lane for what reports from its first running called a genuinely lung-bursting climb up to Sandhurst Cross, the sting in the tail arriving early rather than late. What follows is a proper mixed-terrain middle section — trail, woodland, and quiet lanes — before one final sting: a 450m climb along Marsh Quarter Lane right at the finish, meaning there's no easing off even in the closing metres.
