Run alongside the Rye 10 Miler from the same Jempsons supermarket start in Peasmarsh, the five-mile race is its own distinct out-and-back route rather than simply a shortened version of the longer race - runners head out towards Partridge Farm before turning for home well short of the ten-mile loop, on the same quiet, open Sussex lanes shared with local traffic away from the closed section by the start. That makes it a genuinely separate test rather than a half-measure alternative, with its own character across rolling countryside between Peasmarsh and Rye.

Like its longer sibling, it supports the Peasmarsh Memorial Hall Committee, so the entry fee helps fund the upkeep of the village hall at the heart of this small community, and it's included in the Sussex Grand Prix series for competitive club runners chasing series points.
