Oundle 10K

Race Description

Run over a shorter loop than the 20 Mile's nine-village circuit, the 10k starts and finishes at the same Oundle Primary School site on Cotterstock Lane at 09:00, with the start on the road north of the school entrance and the finish on the school field. Rather than the big loop out to Fotheringhay and beyond, the 10k covers two laps of a gently undulating course on quiet tarmac lanes in and around Oundle itself.

Organised directly by Nice Work as one of their own events rather than a club fixture they simply time, it shares the same wide, low-traffic country lanes and rural Northamptonshire scenery as the longer race, just condensed into a repeated shorter loop rather than one long circuit through the outlying villages - useful to know if you're deciding between the two distances and want a sense of what you'll actually be running past.

As with the 20 Mile, finishers get a bespoke medal, free race photos, and prizes for the leading runners. It suits runners wanting a standard, sociable club-distance race in a pretty market-town setting, without the training-run character of the 20 Mile alongside it.
