Kent Spring Marathon

Race Description

For 2027, Nice Work's Kent Spring Marathon moves to a new base at Woodchurch Green in Woodchurch, near Ashford - a fresh course after years of running from Sandyacres Sports Club further north around Charing and Westwell. The new route is two laps of undulating, quiet, wide Kentish lanes through the countryside around Woodchurch, in the part of Kent marketed as the "Garden of England," UKA-licensed and accurately measured with a six-hour cutoff for anyone taking the full distance steadily.

Being a two-lap course rather than a full loop, runners get to know the route on the first circuit and know exactly what's left for the second - useful for pacing on a genuinely undulating course rather than a flat point-to-point. Free parking is available at the venue, and finishers get a bespoke medal, complimentary event photos, and trophies for the leading runners. Ashford International is the nearest railway station for anyone travelling without a car.

Because this is a new route rather than a continuation of the old Charing/Westwell course, previous years' results and target times were set on genuinely different terrain - worth bearing in mind if you're comparing this year's times to anyone's history from before the move. It suits marathon runners wanting a scenic, quiet-lanes spring marathon away from closed-road city events, on a course that's new enough in 2027 that nobody has an established course PB to chase yet.
