Herstmonceux 8km Trail Trail

Race Description

A loop of roughly 8km around the village of Herstmonceux in East Sussex, organised by 1066 Trail Races. It's over 70% trail, with good views and a route that passes some well known local landmarks. It's a friendly, small scale event, with entries capped at 60 so the village isn't overwhelmed by cars.

The course is fully marked and marshalled, and the village hall is the base for toilets, changing and parking. Afterwards there's tea and cake in the hall, which is the best part of any small trail race. The first male and female finishers get prizes, and runners must be 15 or over on race day.

As with most trail races, the distance is approximate and there may be livestock on the course, so dogs aren't allowed. A course map is available from the organisers on request.
