Hawkhurst 5K

Race Description

Run over the same multi-terrain ground around The Moor in Hawkhurst as the 10k, with the same 08:00 start and Nice Work organisation, but covering a single smaller lap rather than two: 5k runners are directed off at the split point after the first loop while 10k runners continue for a second circuit, with both groups finishing back through the orchards towards The Moor.

That makes it a genuinely shorter version of the same course rather than a different route, so the orchard paths, trail sections and lane stretches will be familiar to anyone who's run the 10k in other years, just without the repeat lap. Prizes here are simpler than the 10k's - first man and first woman only - reflecting its role as the more casual, come-and-try option alongside the club-focused longer race, and it sits next to a free junior race that reinforces the family orientation of the day.

The event supports Highgate Hawkhurst WI and other local causes, and finishers get a bespoke medal along with the same free parking, refreshments and mass warm-up as the 10k field. It suits newer runners, families, or anyone wanting a shorter off-road outing without the second lap.
