Hawkhurst 10k

Race Description

Organised by Nice Work and based at The Moor in Hawkhurst, Kent, with an 08:00 start, this is a multi-terrain, undulating race through the orchards, trails and roads around the village rather than a closed-road event. The 10k covers two laps of a course built around Delmonden Lane, taking runners out through the orchards each time before looping back towards The Moor.

The event benefits Highgate Hawkhurst WI and other local community projects, and has built up a track record over several years as a fixture on the Kent racing calendar, alongside a free junior race that gives it a family day-out feel rather than a purely competitive one. Awards go three deep for men and women, plus veteran categories (40 to 75 for men, 35 to 70 for women), so there's more for club-standard runners to race for here than in the shorter event.

Finishers get a bespoke medal, and the event is known for its post-race extras - a half pint of beer and cakes, plus a mass warm-up and spot prizes before the start. It suits runners wanting a proper multi-terrain 10k with some competitive depth, in a village setting that leans more community fete than serious race HQ.
