Race Description

The shorter option run alongside the 10 Mile from the same Towers School start on Faversham Road, Kennington, Ashford, at 10:00, over the same character of tarmac country lanes around Westwell - rolling, undulating, and open rather than flat. Organised by Ashford & District Running Club with Nice Work managing logistics and timing, it's pitched by the organisers as an accessible early-season challenge rather than a specialist fast course.

Because it shares its start and finish with the 10 Mile and runs on the same stretch of Kent lanes, it has the same undulating character but over a distance that suits runners easing back into racing after winter, or newer club members not yet ready to commit to the longer event on the day. The mid-February date makes it a natural warm-up race rather than a peak-season target time attempt.

As with the 10 Mile, the event supports Holding On Letting Go, a charity providing bereavement support for children, young people and their families, and offers cake and refreshments, a bespoke medal, free parking and changing facilities at the school. It suits runners wanting a shorter, sociable test on the same rolling Westwell lanes without the extra five miles of hill work.
