Cannock Chase Forest 15 Miler Trail

Race Description

Organised by Nice Work from Wood Road Car Park on Cannock Chase, the 15 mile covers three laps of the same undulating forest loop used across all four Cannock Chase distances, on paths and trails through pine plantation and heathland within the AONB. The terrain can be uneven and muddy, with protruding tree roots in places, reflecting the Chase's mixed woodland-and-heath landscape rather than manicured parkland.

As the middle-distance option it sits between a training-focused 10 mile and the marathon-training-oriented 20 mile, and three laps of genuinely hilly trail make it a tougher proposition than the numbers alone suggest - a fair test for runners with some off-road experience rather than a first attempt at trail distance running. It's well suited to runners building mileage for a spring marathon without wanting the full 20 mile commitment, or club runners looking for a proper hill-and-trail workout.

Finishers receive a bespoke medal, with free photographs, trophies and prizes for the leading runners, and free parking at the venue. Given the shared lap course, runners choosing between the 15 and neighbouring distances are really deciding how many repeats of the same demanding loop they want to take on.
