Burgess Hill 10k

Race Description

The closing leg of Nice Work's Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend, run at Burgess Hill Academy on Station Road on the bank holiday Monday, the shortest of the three distances after two 10 mile legs in East Grinstead and Haywards Heath on the preceding days. It's the same multi-terrain, undulating mix of road and trail as its sibling races, just over 10k rather than 10 miles.

For runners completing the full three-day challenge, this is the finishing distance - deliberately shorter than the two legs before it, since by day three most people attempting all three are running on tired legs. It's also a fully standalone 10k for anyone entering just this one day, with the same Mid Sussex Mile and family fun run alongside it that run through the whole weekend, now in its 15th year.

It suits runners wanting a shorter multi-terrain 10k with a strong sense of occasion - either as a stand-alone Bank Holiday Monday race, or as the finish line for a weekend that's taken in three different Sussex towns and 26.2 miles spread across three days.
